Our version is cast from original sections and stays true to the historic form, with smooth, rounded columns that are as practical as they are refined.
Perfect for period properties, heritage renovations, or traditional interiors with modern demands, the oversized model is hand-built to order in our North Yorkshire workshop. To ensure safe and efficient delivery, it is supplied in two or more sections with joining threads, gaskets, a radiator assembly tool, and clear reassembly instructions.

Hand Polished Cast Iron Radiators - from £30 per section inc VAT

Hand polishing cast iron radiators is a very time consuming process. Each section is individually polished with a series of bespoke polishing wheels.
We only polish the visible areas - the front, the top and on the end sections but not on the back which would be placed against the wall.

Oversized Radiator Assembly
Our cast iron radiators can be assembled to any length you require. However, for radiators longer than 1.2 metres, you have two options: either pay a surcharge for an oversized pallet, or opt for delivery in multiple sections, which will require some straightforward on-site assembly. Full assembly instructions are provided below.

Your radiator will arrive in several sections, clearly labelled alphabetically (e.g., A, B, C) for correct order of assembly. Along with the sections, you’ll receive a radiator assembly tool, joining threads, and gaskets.
Step 1: Prepare the Area

Choose a level surface with good access around it. Lay down a protective sheet or covering to prevent damage to your flooring. Place two wooden battens or lengths of timber on the floor to rest the radiator sections on—this helps avoid scratches and makes assembly easier.
Please note: our cast iron radiators are pressure tested with air and water, so some internal moisture may still be present and may leak during assembly.
Step 2: Check Alignment and Thread Direction

Place the radiator sections next to each other in the correct order. Insert a joining thread into one side of the joint—only a small amount (about a quarter turn) is needed to hold it in place. Take care not to force the thread, as one side is left-handed and the other is right-handed. The thread should bite easily and cleanly.
If your radiator has more than two sections, take extra care to ensure middle blocks (e.g., B in an A–B–C configuration) are the correct way around. This can be confirmed by lightly testing the threads—there is only one correct orientation due to the threading pattern.
Step 3: Fit the Gasket

Slide a clean, dry gasket to the centre of the joining thread. Do not use any grease, oil, or sealing compounds. Our gaskets are designed to British Standards and manufactured in the United Kingdom. If your gasket is damaged or missing, please contact us on 01723 321 000 and we’ll replace it promptly.
Step 4: Repeat for Lower Thread

Repeat the process with the lower joining thread, inserting it gently into the lower connection point. As before, thread it just enough to hold in place.
Step 5: Align the Sections

Bring the two radiator sections together, ensuring they sit flush and the joining threads are properly aligned with the corresponding recesses. Double-check that your gaskets remain centred on the threads.
Step 6: Insert the Assembly Tool

Using the assembly tool provided, locate the joining thread you wish to tighten. Insert the tool through the appropriate section, turning it clockwise until it reaches the thread.
Tighten gradually—partially tighten the top thread, then remove the tool and repeat the process on the bottom thread. Continue alternating until both threads are firmly hand-tight. Avoid tightening one thread all at once, as this can result in cross-threading, jamming, or breakage.
Step 7: Final Tightening with Spanner

Once the radiator is hand-tight, attach an adjustable spanner to the assembly tool and give it an extra quarter turn. Do not overtighten—this could damage the gasket or thread.
If using EPDM gaskets, look for a slight bulge at the join—this indicates a proper seal.
